Move a sample to a different pad by dragging it
Drag one pad onto another to swap them — across groups too — with settings travelling along and one-tap undo.
Rearranging a kit on the hardware means reassigning slots by hand. In Best Friend you drag the pad.
- Long-press a filled pad in the grid until it lifts.
- Drag it onto another pad and release.
Both cells update the instant the drop lands. Drop onto a filled pad and the two swap; drop onto an empty one and the sample moves there.
Across groups
Lift a pad in group A, switch to group B while still holding it, and drop. The pad crosses groups in one gesture. The switch can happen from the hardware or within the app.
Settings travel with the sample
Amp, pan, envelope, and Play Mode all move with the pad — a swap gives you the same sound in a new place, not a sample with somebody else’s settings on it.
Undo
The undo banner appears as soon as the drop lands, and both cells flip back when you tap it. You do not have to be looking at the grid for it to work: switch tabs, come back, and the restored layout is there.
The undo finishes in a frame, so there is no progress HUD — the banner just dismisses.
