Search and organise your Library
Bank Snapshots, backups, and bounces in one place — colour-coded, annotated, searchable, and bulk-editable with undo.
Everything Best Friend saves lives in the Library, split into three pages:
- Bank Snapshots — single banks, saved and recallable.
- Backups — projects and full systems.
- Bounces — the zips you have exported.
Tap between them with the capsule above the tab bar. It hides as you scroll down a long list and comes back when you scroll up or reach the top.
On iPad and Mac each of the three has its own screen in the sidebar, with its own title, toolbar, and search.
Name, colour, and annotate
Every item takes a name, a colour, and notes. Colour groups related takes at a glance, and notes are what search matches on for a backup — the filename is device-generated.
Rename and recolour by swiping a row, or long-pressing it for a menu. Every backup row’s subtitle carries its file size.
Search
Search covers all three types at once. Results replace the page, grouped by type, with empty groups omitted.
- A backup matches on its note, not its device filename.
- A snapshot result pushes straight to its detail screen.
- A Restore started from a search result presents its sheet there, against the right scope — project backups restore a project, system backups the device.
- Projects inside an unopened system backup are listed flat, so you can find them without opening the parent.
Select mode
Select mode works across scopes on one page. Pick a project backup and a system backup together and act on both:
- Delete removes exactly what you selected and leaves one banner — “Deleted N items” — and a single Undo restores every row at once.
- Share hands out one sheet with every file in it.
The title counts your selection. Switching page clears the selection but stays in select mode.
Undo
Every delete in the Library is soft while its banner is up. Tap Undo and the row comes back with its name, colour, notes, and its audio — the files are kept until the banner goes.
The banner is app-wide, so it works from the iPad sidebar screens as well as the compact Library, and it survives the screen you deleted from being dismissed.
Once the banner disappears the files are gone. A delete whose banner never expired because you quit the app stays deleted, and leaves nothing orphaned behind.
Adding things
The + is page-aware: it opens the snapshot save sheet on Bank Snapshots, the backup sheet on Backups, and the bounce wizard on Bounces. On Backups, one sheet carries the type picker, the colour, and the notes together, and its detail line names the project the device is actually on.
Disconnected, the sheet still opens and still lets you switch type, but tells you to connect a device and leaves Back Up disabled.
